Book Reviews - The Prince's Stubborn Bride by Devika Fernando

Image
Grab a cup of coffee and this book. Can you resist if the there is an absolutely rebellious and an absolute devil may care prince who is ready to go in search of an adventure renouncing his throne?   Well trust me, if you know Sebastian you can't. You are a goner the moment you watch his silent approach. Me and my other two's: one dressed in black with her red horns and the other dressed in white with her white wings both languorously still in a Hangover of a really solid overdose of Prince Sebastian. If you think I am just gaga over the Prince alone: No!  The Princess Olivia is none the less. She stands eye to eye against the world which is trying hard to pull her down because she is a woman. She shows the spine to stand tall against the men who believe a Queen can never rule alone and she needs to married and need a man to guide her, support her and help her rule.   Me and my other two are really feeling glad and pretty happy about how Princess Olivia turned out t

Book Review - The Casanova's Wife by Sundari Venkatraman

Well!!! Who brought the Casanova to his knees? ;-) A casanova model who owns a lean, mean, and trim perfect body. His eyes the shade of almond; deep enough to just drown in them…Phew…(Fanning myself. My other two: the one in black with red horns and the one in white with her white wings and her halo are helping me cool me down as well…) This specimen of a man named Bharat Maheshwari is everything desireable in a man bottled into one package. This Casanova is a go getter,  in demand model. He is the rake eager to find his next conquest. (I cant’t help from wondering why these Maheshwari men are always the reason for the soaring temperature? Take my word they are too hot to handle.) What happens when such a person finds himself so stirred by a rendezvous with this naïve woman? She is very innocent and untouched and before he knows she slips right through his fingers?  I don’t want to spoil the fun created by Sundari Venkatraman.  Guys,  looking for a steamy romance ‘PICK UP

Book Review - Knitted Tales by Rubina Ramesh

The whole locality is getting ready for the Halloween. And I read Knitted Tales. Trust me it leaves you spooked, warm, sad and agitated all together. I had just returned from a vacation. And the whole time I had this nagging feeling I need to read Knitted Tales. It was there in my Kindle mocking me at my helplessness. But I didn't want to ruin the fun of being together with the family by sitting with a book. As I had promised myself I will be hundred present there for the vacation with undivided attention.( Exasperated sigh escapes my lips and my other two are mocking at me, you guessed it right with half of mind into the book you can't read how can one give their complete undivided attention. I know, my fellow book lovers would agree to that.) Rubina Ramesh's blurb had immediately caught my attention and I was eager to read and to my dismay it released when I was about to start for the vacation. I bought the the book but couldn't read. Its like keeping water befo

Book Review - Fighting for Tara by Sunanda J Chatterjee

Image
Very intense fight of a mother who herself is too young to not have her own mother to cuddle her. The sadness, the belief, the strength a mother has in her to fight for her child without thinking twice about her own needs. (Me and my two others sniffed, smiled, felt the pain and finally the contentment, we felt them all) The story is so intricately woven in a remote village to America back to India. The village, women's center, adoption, America, parents, sisters , jealousy, friend, enemy, boyfriend, date rape, engagement, court, religion, beliefs, anger, leukemia, DNA, righteousness, love, trust, sacrifice.  A saga worth every moment of reading. A tight, emotional read. Started slowly and the pace just picked up. There was not a single moment you feel as made up or wanting to skip through the words. You want to read every word and travel with Hansa and Tara through out all the way. The contrast in life in India as a Child Bride and then as a young teenager in America both

Book Review - Second Chance Forever by Summerita Rhayne

When one  doesn't have any emotional bonding  but one touch is enough to send soaring into the abyss of sensual pleasure... that's dangerous! Especially if it is with a photographer whose muse she has been years before and was his live-in partner. But had parted ways as he wanted career but with her tagging along where as she wanted nothing to do with this world of fashion and modelling, instead was eager to settle down with family and kids. The past raps on the door when she stood in her very simple, plain and practical kurta( tops) , slightly plumper with her brood of triplets. The sizzling intimacy is toe curling and my other two ;-) were sweating as we read the book.  First I did wonder why the bonding is not mentioned then slowly as the book progressed it is revealed that both of them are struggling with their own demons from the past and how with the aid of her loving mother in law and adorable triplets they unravel the love they wouldn't have let peep out. RELEASING ON THE 10TH OF OCTOBER  Knitted Tales: A Collection of Emotions  By  Rubina Ramesh Every tale has a path to follow to reach its destination.. but it may not exactly be the one we should follow. WHAT IS THE ANTHOLOGY ALL ABOUT? What forces an innocent girl to become a sex symbol? Her desires? Or cruel fate?  Is a lifetime enough—for avenging a betrayal? How do you hide secrets that never stopped haunting you?  Can vengeance and secrets of your past devastate your present? How can long-buried crimes of yours suddenly raise their head? Can sinning be saving? Is your spouse your soulmate? What if they never understood your feelings? Can you still live with them? Lastly, does life give only two options? Live or die? What if there is a third? In her debut anthology, Rubina Ramesh tries to find answers to these questions that are often from the heart and yet makes the mind ponder over the solution. Or is it the other way round? Either w

Book Review – Cabbing all the way by Jatin Kuberkar

Hey guys! Guess where I am siting and writing this review? (the wicked grin and a wink) I am sitting on a chair by the Walmart billing counter waiting for my husband and kids. I know it sounds opposite. But I have my excuse I just had to change the pair of shoes my husband got because it was one size bigger. (the exasperated shrug) yes! He doesn’t know my shoe size The sweet lady who helped me change the shoes asked the same. But I loved her expression she had her hands on her hips looking at me which said "men" and asking " your husband doesn’t know your size?" And ( a deep sigh) he is buying something for his “Car- Grooming” and as always my girls love to accompany him.   So I got this couple of minutes to read the final chapter of Cabbies by Jatin Kuberkar. I was still reveling in romances when I got this book through the book club from Readomania for the review.   It took me some time to adjust to the slower pace and realistic narration. Even, for a mo
